Deep Kalra
Deep Kalra is a pioneering Indian entrepreneur and the Founder of MakeMyTrip, India's first large-scale online travel platform. Starting the company in 2000 — well before internet adoption took off in India — he built MakeMyTrip into a category-defining consumer tech company and led it through multiple market cycles, global expansion, and a successful NASDAQ listing.
With a background in finance (ABN AMRO, GE Capital) and education from St. Stephen's College and IIM Ahmedabad, Deep brings a rare blend of strategic depth, operational rigor, and long-term institution-building mindset. Today, he is widely respected as a founder-mentor and ecosystem leader; he also chairs IIM Ahmedabad's Endowment Fund and the World Travel & Tourism Council (India), and co-chairs the CII Tourism Committee.
